Hi – My name is Susan Twidle. I am a teacher and registered Democrat who would like to get more involved in the political process. I am in District 11. I would, perhaps, like to join the organization and help campaign for candidates who are for the middle class, who will fund the public employees pension system and will protect the environment. How do I join and get involved?

Is it best to get involved on the local level in my township (Neptune)? How do I join the local organization- are there dues, is there an application process? How can I find out more about Eric Houtaling, the candidate in my District for Assembly? Can I also join the Monmouth County Organization and get involved in the Women’s Caucus on June 4th?
I am sorry to bombard you with so many questions. I am realizing that if I am not more involved in the political process, my future is in jeopardy.

Please contact me by e mail or phone.

    Sincere thank;

    Susan Twidle

Just so I am clear. I want action,I want to help. Not with feel good or show work. I am a working guy. My youngest of three William will be graduating this year and as I can’t afford to send him to college he will be going into the marines. I am very proud but I think he could be doing somthing more. Like his older brother he volunteers at the local fire department. We need change bold like the president. Like my favorite quote goes… Time to nut up or shut up!

Is there any information out there about the 2 candidates that are running on the ticket for council in Matawan. No website exists for the candidates and nothing about them or their positions is online. I even emailed one of them since I received his card at an event last week but he hasn’t responded. It’s very disappointing that there is no information to be found on the candidates. Matawan deserves better.

I volunteer some of my time to help nonprofits with their websites. I worked in IT for 23 years and was a professional webmaster too. I’ve helped eight organizations so far. Do you have any interest in getting a new website for free? I just helped an animal shelter and their site is really nice now. I helped a women’s center before that.

    Sincerely,

Hi, I just started a regular donation and the list says I donated via Patricia Teffenhart. What does that mean?

    Thanks

I find it shocking that Sea Bright Mayor and City Council would enter into a business agreeement with a former mayor that owes 48,000 in back taxes. This deal is unethical and a potential conflict of interest. This deal to house a fire truck and pay the tax delinquent 4,500 a mont in lease fees has made national news and is embarrasing for the town and the state. Sea Bright seems to be continuing its activty of back room deals, catering to beach clubs and practicing small town politics. I have brought this to the attention of NJ state and federal represenatives.

Hi! I live in Long Branch. Is there a monthly meeting for Long Branch? If not, which monthly meeting would you suggest? Are there county or statewide meetings also?

My name is Leroy Abrams, my Church will be experiencing its 65th anniversary in August. Given the nearness of the mid-term elections I thought potential Monmouth County candidates might like the opportunity to get their names and message to a group of family oriented people while advertising in our journal. If you have any questions, please let me know.

    Greetings,

This year, 2014 will be a milestone in Monmouth County Church History. Old Ship of Zion Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate 65 years of service to the Englishtown/Monroe area. Sixty-five years ago, the first African-American Church in the area opened its doors to worshipers.

We are soliciting you to participate in our Souvenir Ad Journal, which will encompass a historical perspective coupled with advertisements from our supporters.

To commemorate our 65th Anniversary, we are preparing this souvenir advertisement journal to be distributed to all attendees at our Anniversary Dinner on Saturday August 23, 2014. The event will be held at the Sterling Gardens Banquet facility in Matawan, New Jersey.

Over 200 guests will be in attendance and this forum will provide an excellent opportunity for you to advertise your business or services to a targeted audience of family oriented people, who traditionally support and patronize friends of our community.

This is an opportunity to introduce your business or services to a vast audience that would find your services appealing and we ask you to consider advertising with us.

Please review the attached Souvenir Advertisement Form (back sides of this letter) for the various advertisement options and submit your ad as requested

We encourage you to secure your advertisement space early in order to take advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity.

In addition, if you are interested in one of our 65th Anniversary sponsorship opportunities, please contact me directly.

    Regards,

    Leroy Abrams

    Hello,

I am currently a senior at Rutgers University where I am double majoring in Economics and Supply Chain Management. Over the past few years I have had a growing interest in public service, especially in terms of economic policies and foreign affairs. I am looking for opportunities to begin a possible career in public affairs and gain valuable knowledge and experience. Are there any positions, volunteer or other, that can afford me the opportunity to learn and gain the experience I am looking for?

    Hello,

I am Kathy Sullivan and I represent OnlinePoliticalScienceDegree.org. Our site just published a list of 6 online political quizzes informed voters should take: http://onlinepoliticalsciencedegree.org/political-quizzes/

We think political action and discourse is critical, and are passionate about inspiring people to pursue an education in the field. This is why we published our list of quizzes to help both voters and potential poli sci majors. We are in the process of growing our site so I was hoping to share our content with others.

If you feel like our list would be beneficial to your readers I’d really appreciate if you could share it through a link or any other way you see fit.

Hi, my name is Grace Bethea, I work for CWA Local 1032, I am trying to find the Women for Buono pump out the vote buttons. I organize the volunteers for our GOTV and phone banks and all the women want these buttons, also do you have tee shirts with thus slogan. Thank you.

At the BayShore Democrats meeting last night, Vinny Solomino said you were considering Oct 5 or 6 in Red Bank for an additional Buono/Booker event. I just wanted to let you know that Highlands’ annual Oktoberfest is scheduled for Saturday, October 5 and I think Hazlet also has a townwide event that day.

The club also voted their full agreement with Vinny’s offer to Joe Gillo for our members to help with setting up for the event. Let Vinny or I know if you need any additional help in organizing the event.

This event is being held on YOM Kippur, a holy day in the Jewish calendar.

This is in poor taste and you should be aware of this. The women’s caucus

Has already appolygised and cancelled an event that they had already scheduled.

    Sincerely,

    Isabel Jacob, Marlboro

    Hi Fellow Democrats:

I know you have your own events to worry about, but I thought this might have some appeal nonetheless. It’s free, not a fundraiser. Anything you can do or suggest to get the word out would be appreciated. Thanks.

The Simpsons writer/producer Mike Reiss will speak at the Ocean County Library in Toms River on Monday, September 23 at 7:00 pm. His appearance in the library’s Mancini Hall will be free to the public.

Reiss has been a prime creative force behind The Simpsons from the premier episode in December, 1989, until now. He ran the show in Season 4, which Entertainment Weekly called “the greatest season of the greatest show in history.” Reiss has won four Emmys and a Peabody among many other awards. As a speaker, he delivers hilarious, scathing commentary on television and contemporary culture accompanied by rare animated clips from his career.

Sponsored by the Island Heights Democrats, Reiss’s appearance is at the invitation of the Bendel for Senate campaign of John Bendel. Bendel is the Democratic candidate for the New Jersey Senate in the 10th Legislative District, which includes Bay Head, Brick, Island Heights, Lakehurst, Lavallette, Manchester, Mantoloking, Point Pleasant Beach, Seaside Heights, and Toms River.

Reiss and Bendel were both editors at National Lampoon in 1981 and 1982. Reiss and his then-writing partner Al Jean left for Hollywood to write for television, including such shows as Not Necessarily the News, Nine to Five, Alf, It’s Garry Shandling’s Show, and The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. They wrote the first Simpsons episode in 1989. Jean is now the show’s executive producer. Reiss is a consulting producer.

Bendel became a journalist whose work has appeared in the New York Times, The Washington Post, and many other newspapers, including virtually every paper in New Jersey. Bendel was editorial page editor of the Herald News, and in the 1990s wrote and produced a satirical web site called New Jersey Uber Alles, which was covered and quoted by the state’s media.

    To whom this may concern:

I am Jessica Rohr, a Graduate Assistant for the Monmouth University Political Science Department. I am currently creating an internship database for all Undergraduate and Graduate Political Science students. We are hoping that this database will help students gain experience in our field. I was wondering if the Monmouth County Republican Committee would be interested in having an intern. If so, please email me with your contact information, and I will be happy to list you on our database.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
